Sacramento History Museum, 101, I Street, Sacramento, Sacramento County, California, 95814
The Sacramento History Museum is primarily devoted to the California Gold Rush, Sacramento, and California. It is a replica of Sacramento’s 1854 City Hall building. The museum was originally opened in 1985, but in 1993, through an effort with the City of Sacramento and other organizations, the area was turned into a true museum. The City of Sacramento grew rapidly with the California Gold Rush, and the Sacramento History Museum displays many exhibits that show the life and experiences of people throughout this time, including artifacts and other intriguing items.
