Sacramento Metropolitan Area Map

The greater Sacramento Metropolitan Area is comprised of 7 different counties including El Dorado County, Nevada County, Placer County, Sacramento County, Sutter County, Yolo County, and Yuba County. One lesser-known attraction of this area is the skiing. There are various ski resorts and natural resorts attracting both tourists and locals throughout the year. Since the late 20th century, the Sacramento Metropolitan Areas is one of the quickest growing urban regions of the United States. The area has been described as having a Mediterranean climate composed of cool, damp winters and hot, dry summers. West of the Mississippi River, Sacramento contains the largest rail hub.
