Located at the southernmost part of Sacramento lies the Meadowview neighborhood. Toward the beginning of this neighborhood, it was known as a low-income area that was approved for low income loans. However, over time, Meadowview became a place where parents could raise their families relatively safely. At the Community Center, there are various offerings such as a gym, computer lab, and other facilities. This is a very diverse area within Sacramento housing a 34% Hispanic, 25% African-American, 20% Asian, 12% White, 5% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 4% Mixed Race population. Though the area is sometimes viewed as unsafe, Meadowview is part of a low crime area. One notable resident of the area is actor LeVar Burton.
