Located at 401 Street in Sacramento, California, the Sacramento Valley Station is an Amtrak train station that serves the city of Sacramento. The depot is the second busiest Amtrak station in the Western United States, and it is the seventh busiest Amtrak station in the United States. It is currently served by four Amtrak routes and started service in 1926. The Amtrak started servicing the Amtrak Thruway bus service as well on four routes within the Sacramento Valley Station as of 2016. It also houses an RT Light Rail as well as a local and commuter bus. There are also plans to build a future Modesto-Sacramento line on the Altamont Corridor Express.
