Del Paso Heights, a neighborhood in the city of Sacramento, is bordered by the Beltline Freeway Interstate 80, Norwood Avenue, Arcade Creek, and Roseville Road. It is most defined as the city north of the American River. Originally part of the Rancho Del Paso Mexican land grand in 1844, the land was later acquired by James Ben Ali Haggin. It became a ranch property used primarily for horse breeding, including producing the first Kentucky Derby winner from California. It was part of the census-designated place of Del Paso heights-Robia.
