The Old Sacramento State Historic Park takes up roughly one third of the area within the Old Sacramento Historic District. During the 1960s, there was much disrepair, and there were many difficulties in the area including frequent flooding. However, due to a large effort by securing the area as an outdoor living history center, many significant buildings and areas were reconstructed. It is now located between I Street and the Capitol Mall. There are many historic buildings located in the area including the B.F. Hastings Building, the Firehouse Restaurant, the Eagle Theater, and many more.
