Southside Park, Sacramento, Sacramento County, California
Located just south of Downtown Sacramento, Southside Park is part of the South Side Historic District in Sacramento. There are many annual celebrations held at the park as well as a Sunday Farmers Market that attracts locals and visitors throughout the year. Originally, the area was inhabited by the Valley Nisenan people. The Southside Park was created about 100 years ago, and it now contains over 50 structures. Within the park, the Southside Park Mural stands as a tribute to the Mexican and Chicano heritage that many of the Southside residents come from, including Pre-Columbian motifs.
